About the Tour
A Rich History
The Duniway Home Tour has been a yearly fixture on holiday calendars since 1978, making it one of the longest-running events in the city. The tour offers a unique look inside the homes of one of Portland’s most historic neighborhoods.
Eastmoreland’s development started in 1910 when William M. Ladd donated 40 acres to the founders of Reed College in the hope that prospective homeowners might be attracted by a stately community similar to those they left back East. Further developments in the 1920s and 1930s established a rich architectural legacy, with styles including Tudor, Colonial, stone and stucco.
The Home Tour is a fundraiser for Duniway Elementary School, and was the brainchild of 1978 PTA Vice-President Katy Neill, who still lives in the neighborhood.
